MRI Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients; select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body
• Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination
• Enter and monitor patient data; transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce transparencies; develop film in an automatic processor
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, patient data/history)
• Ensure equipment is properly functioning; report potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other department spaces

Experience Required

• 2 years of relevant experience
• 2 years of independent scanning required

Skills & Certifications

• MRI imaging and cross-sectional scanning
• Patient positioning and pre-screening
• Radiation safety protocols

Eligibilities & qualifications

• PACS documentation and image quality management
• Equipment monitoring and troubleshooting
