About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's growth and strategic development. The COO will be a key partner to the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for operational leadership, program oversight, and team development. This includes serving as a trusted advisor on organization-wide planning, ensuring the execution of the strategic plan, and leading the work of the Leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the company's mission, a minimum of 10 years' of experience in nonprofit operations, and a proven track record of leading diverse teams to achieve ambitious goals. They should be a collaborative, people-centered leader with strong talent development, operational discipline, and strategic vision. Key responsibilities for the COO at the company include incorporating nonprofit best practices, managing relationships with key vendors, and overseeing organizational systems to improve communication and efficiency. The role also involves cross-departmental collaboration to highlight program outcomes and success stories, as well as serving as a bridge between internal operations and external partners. The successful candidate will be a savvy manager, solutions-oriented, and able to maintain calm in crisis. They should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to make agile, innovative decisions, and be flexible in their approach. Experience in a founder-led or start-up organization is a plus, as is a demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining systems and metrics for continuous improvement.
