About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing for a complex ICU patient population including trauma (head, chest, abdominal, orthopedic), stroke, burns, and general medical/surgical patients requiring intensive care
• Manage ventilated patients and perform medication titration including all common ICU drips
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, central lines, EVDs, ICP monitoring, and CRRT
• Interpret EKG rhythms independently and assess for need for intervention; no monitor technician on unit
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3; may be expected to float throughout the facility (excluding ER and OB), with a capped ratio of 1:4 if floated to Med/Surg
• Participate in unit-specific orientation of 1–2 shifts; expected hours may not apply during orientation period

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Demonstrated comfort with ventilator management and medication titration
• Experience with arterial lines and central lines
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy; negative drug screen required for all panels
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred but not required
• Experience with CRRT
• Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring
