Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Active compact license required
• ATS (Advanced Travel Staffing) compliance

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Unit Details

Mixed Telemetry and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) located on two floors with:

• IMCU on 3E - Patient ratio 1:3
• Telemetry on 2E - Patient ratio 1:4

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Pre/Post cardiac catheterization care
• Management of BiPAP/CPAP treatments
• Cardioversion/Defibrillation
• Cooling/Warming blankets
• Obtaining 12 Lead EKGs
• Management of drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, and PCA pumps
• Caring for vascular devices (PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath)
• Wound care and management (including Wound Vac)
• Administration of cardiac medications

Patient Population

Care provided to adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including:

• General Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac conditions
• Renal issues
• CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment)
• General Intermediate Care needs

Interdisciplinary Support

Support from various teams including:

• IV Teams
• Physical Therapy
• Respiratory Services
• Interpretation Services
• Phlebotomy
• Radiology
• Social Services
• Rapid Response Teams
• Pharmacy
• Transportation
• Unit Secretary

Important Notes

Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Communication devices will be provided if required for the assignment.

Additional Information

Providers must request all time-off and scheduling preferences upfront during submission. Inflexibility regarding scheduled hours may lead to termination of the contract.
