Compensation:

• Salary Range: $260,000 - $335,000
• Sign-On Bonus

Job Summary: We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our growing team in Lake Charles, LA. This position offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient care with an opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health services to the aging population. With direct access to over 50 employed primary care providers and a strong community referral base, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inpatient and Outpatient Care: Provide psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, working closely with primary care physicians to ensure comprehensive care. You will also have the opportunity to round on five local nursing homes.
• Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Lead the IOP, dedicating up to 20 hours per week to this structured program designed to support geriatric patients in need of more intensive care.
• Patient Caseload: See 7-10 patients per half-day session in the outpatient setting, focusing on diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care. The inpatient unit includes 31 beds, of which 21 are currently staffed.
• Call Schedule: Participate in a weekday and weekend call rotation, ensuring continuity of care for patients.

Work Schedule:

• Monday-Friday: Enjoy a standard workweek, allowing for a balanced lifestyle.
• Call Rotation: Shared weekday and weekend call schedule to provide 24/7 psychiatric care coverage.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Geriatric Psychiatry
• Eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana
• Strong interest in working with geriatric populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Competitive Salary: Starting between $260,000 and $335,000 based on experience
