Pay Range: $22–$25 per hour

Position Overview

M Force Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and tax preparation for multiple clients.

This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and assisting with individual and business tax returns.

The ideal Staff Accountant has a strong accounting foundation, previous bookkeeping or tax preparation experience, and the ability to independently manage multiple client accounts and deadlines. This role requires accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and professional communication with clients throughout the year and during peak tax season.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records for multiple clients
• Perform bank and credit card account reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities for assigned clients
• Process payroll and prepare required payroll reports
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Review financial records, account activity, statements, and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities
• Prepare individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1120
• Review client financial information to identify applicable tax deductions, credits, and potential savings opportunities
• Assist with tax planning and provide guidance to clients when appropriate
• Ensure accounting and tax work complies with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
• Communicate directly with clients regarding financial questions, account activity, tax documentation, and missing information
• Maintain accurate and organized client records and supporting documentation
• Manage multiple client accounts and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Protect confidential financial and tax information
• Assist with general office responsibilities, including maintaining a clean and organized workplace, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, or a related financial role
• Experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial recordkeeping
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and payroll
• Proficiency with accounting and tax preparation software
• Strong knowledge of IRS regulations and applicable tax requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently during tax season and other deadline-driven periods
