NMHU Student Jobs Position Title Administrative Aide Department Department Summary The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is here to assist students in finding ways to fund their college education through scholarships, work-study, student loans, and grants. We offer the following services: assistance with FAFSA completion; advisement in the financial aid process; Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals; student loan processing; processing of consortium agreements; processing of internal and external scholarships; and awarding of federal and state work study. General Job Description Job description may include varied and moderately complex duties involving a moderate degree of responsibility and judgment. Usually requires previous training or equivalent experience. May direct or coordinate activities of other student employees. Training new hires; Managing schedules; Providing support to students (tutors, peer mentors, orientation leaders); Conduct presentations; Managing confidential information; Maintain regular attendance; and, Perform other job duties as assigned. Specific Duties Student worker will be responsible for the operation of the office in addition to: Serves as front office point of contact to greet visitors and provide exceptional customer service Answers phone inquiries, screens calls, takes messages, and directs calls to appropriate personnel Receives, sorts and distributes departmental mail and other documents Maintains confidentiality Data entry Answers routine questions Scans and indexes various documents into information systems Copies, collates, and files various documents Maintains regular attendance Assist staff with outreach services Training office aide staff Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Education: College student at NMHU enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours. High school diploma or GED . Experience: Some clerical/office experience. Physical Demands Frequently: Standing, Walking, Bending, Squatting, Kneeling, Repetitive hand motion, Prolonged use of computer. Occasionally: Lifting a minimum of thirty (30) pounds, Climbing.
