Pharmacy Technician IV Certified | Alexandria, Virginia

Support specialty infusion pharmacy services in a hybrid role combining patient care coordination with hands-on pharmacy operations in Alexandria, VA. This contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team providing critical infusion therapies, with the potential for permanent placement after 2-3 months.


Key Responsibilities Patient Care Coordination (50-70%)

• Process patient referrals, intake documentation, and maintain accurate records
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility, assist with prior authorizations and payer communication
• Coordinate therapy initiation and medication delivery logistics
• Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and clinical teams to ensure seamless care

Pharmacy Operations & Clean Room Support (30-50%)

• Assist in prescription processing and dispensing workflow
• Support sterile compounding preparation and maintain clean room operations adhering to USP compliance
• Manage inventory and support medication preparation alongside pharmacists to ensure accuracy

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license (Virginia preferred)
• PTCB certification strongly preferred
• Experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, or hospital setting preferred
• Prior authorization and insurance processing experience a plus
• Sterile compounding or clean room experience highly valued
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Immediate availability to start
