The Goddard School located in 1700 Montgomery St Suite 100 San Francisco, CA 94111 is looking for a motivated self-starter for an Assistant director's position. A bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is required. Must be aware of CA licensing requirements. A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.

The Assistant Director responsibilities include:

• Overseeing preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, staff scheduling and facility operations
• Developing strong relationships with our families
• Complying with state childcare licensing regulations
• Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education
• Will be in classroom including Infants to preschool classroom to cover for other team members or ratio requirements.

Qualifications:

• BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field including 18 semester hours of completed coursework, including 12 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Site Supervisor/Director permit.
• Infant Units.
• Prior assistant director experience in a Preschool Setting
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Team Builder
• Commitment to Professional Development
• Proficient in basic computer skills using Microsoft office, Outlook, Canva.

To be considered for the open position you must have:

• Minimum of 12 months working experience in a large center environment.
• ACTIVE and CLEAR DOJ LIVESCAN REQUIRED.
• Mandated Reporter Certification.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• A current physical examination by a Physician, including a current tuberculin test.
• Must submit accurate shot record including MMR, T-dap and Influenza.
• An approved criminal record check as required by state regulations.
• Complete California state required health clearance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Compensation: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
