Our system of care includes a truly integrated team with the most talented, experienced, and compassionate caregivers and physicians, backed by the latest cutting-edge technology.The Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist facilitates the Radiation Oncology process through the development of optimal treatment strategies. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following: Utilize external beam data, radioisotope data, and knowledge of the technical aspects of Radiation Oncology and Physics to derive computerized treatment plans for the purpose of providing an optimal dosimetric distribution for each patient in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Implements department protocols, policies, and procedures and quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy of patient treatment.The primary department has the following equipment: Two Varian TrueBeams, and one Trilogy linac performing 3D conformal, VMAT, SRS, and SBRT treatments, Elekta HDR with OnCentra, Eclipse v16.1 treatment planning system with ClearCalc, AutoContour, and EZ Fluence, Velocity for image registration, and Mosaiq v2.83 Record and Verify. The ideal candidate would join a team of dedicated dosimetrists that support treatment planning for clinics throughout Connecticut and would work collaboratively to ensure high quality treatment plans for our patients throughout our system of care.Education: BS Degree or equivalent with successful completion of a recognized dosimetry training program Licensure and Certification: Certified by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board, or board eligible with a strong preference for 3 years' experience in Medical Dosimetry.
