Speech Language Pathologist (part-time)

Job Description SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST Reports To: Executive Director of Special Education Job Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatic communication disorders for students. The SLP supports students' educational performance by collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective intervention strategies in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate students referred for speech-language services using appropriate assessment tools and procedures. Identify and diagnose communication disorders that may impact academic achievement and functional performance. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and speech-language goals. Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers to support student success. Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions. Maintain accurate, timely documentation including evaluations, progress reports, Medicaid documentation (if applicable), and service logs. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs. Support early intervention, MTSS, and classroom-based strategies as appropriate. Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, district policies, and professional ethical standards. Stay current with best practices through professional development and continuing education. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Experience working in a school setting. Knowledge of special education laws and procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of speech-language development and disorders. Ability to conduct assessments and develop data-driven intervention plans. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage caseloads and meet compliance deadlines. Proficiency with educational technology and documentation systems. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout school buildings. Ability to lift and carry materials. Ability to communicate effectively with students and adults. Terms of Employment 190 Days; Salary based on District Scale for OT/PT/Speech Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
