About the Role: The Speech Language Pathologist plays a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse age groups. This position involves developing personalized therapy plans that address each client's unique needs, promoting effective communication and improved quality of life. The role requires collaboration with families, educators, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support. The Speech Language Pathologist will also monitor progress, adjust interventions as necessary, and maintain detailed documentation to track outcomes. Ultimately, this role contributes to empowering clients to overcome communication challenges and achieve their fullest potential in daily interactions. Minimum Qualifications:
Skills: The Speech Language Pathologist utilizes strong assessment and diagnostic skills daily to identify client needs accurately and develop effective treatment plans. Communication skills are essential for educating clients and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care. Clinical expertise in various therapy techniques allows the practitioner to tailor interventions that maximize client progress. Organizational skills are critical for maintaining detailed records and managing caseloads efficiently. Additionally, adaptability and technological proficiency enable the use of telepractice tools and AAC devices to expand therapy accessibility and effectiveness.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the United States.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with pediatric and adult populations in clinical, educational, or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and technologies.
- Bilingual abilities or experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
- Training or certification in specialized therapy approaches such as PROMPT, Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), or Dysphagia management.
- Experience with telepractice and remote therapy delivery platforms.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and client goals.
- Provide direct therapy services using evidence-based techniques to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, healthcare providers, and families, to coordinate care and support.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Educate clients and their families about communication disorders and strategies to support improvement outside of therapy sessions.
- Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development.
