Excellent Physician Assistant Opportunity Department of Radiology, University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston, Texas. The Department of Radiology at UTMB in Galveston is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of diagnostic and interventional radiology through excellence in clinical care, research, and education. We provide accurate, timely, and compassionate imaging services that inform critical clinical decisions and enhance patient outcomes. Our faculty and trainees are engaged in high-impact research that drives innovation in imaging technologies, artificial intelligence, and image-guided therapies. Essential Functions Include: Provides patient services under direct supervision and responsibility of a physician. Elicits detailed patient histories and performs complete physical examinations. Determines tentative diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory tests. Counsels patients and families on health and disease. Sutures minor wounds, assists in surgery, applies and removes casts and traction apparatus, and performs other therapeutic procedures under supervision of a physician. May supervise other Physician Assistants. Adheres to internal controls established for the department. Performs related duties as required. Eligibility for Current Students and Recent Graduates Current students who have not yet completed their physician assistant program or recent graduates who have not yet obtained their NCCPA certification, or TPAB/TMB physician assistant license are eligible to apply for this position. Required Qualifications/Education: Completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas Physician Assistant Board Texas Medical Board (TPAB/TMB).
