Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must possess strong clinical skills and be able to effectively manage patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using GE monitors.Provide care for acute and chronic medical conditions, including cardiac telemetry and stroke patients.Administer non-titratable drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin.Conduct bedside shift reports, intentional hourly rounding, and medication teaching to patients.Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.Assist in decision-making and escalate issues that may compromise patient safety.Participate in daily shift huddles.QualificationsActive RN license with at least 2 years of experience in telemetry or related field.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.Experience with Cerner is preferred.Ability to read and interpret various cardiac rhythms.Strong commitment to attendance and punctuality.Work Schedule12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.Holiday requirement: Minimum of 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday.No on-call requirement, but standby may be necessary for low census.Team DynamicsA House Supervisor is available on-site 24/7.Team includes Nurse Manager, Nurse Shift Managers, and Charge Nurses.CNAs are present on the unit based on census levels.Floating to other medical-surgical telemetry units may be required.Dress CodeStaff members are to wear navy blue scrubs. Additional undershirts and jackets must be navy, white, or black, with no hoodies or sweatshirts permitted.OrientationNew staff members will receive 1-2 shifts of orientation with a designated preceptor to ensure a smooth transition into the team.Additional InformationThe unit is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, adhering to best practices in patient care.
