About the Role

Anyone can build AI insurance software now. The models are commoditized. The demos work. Almost nobody starts where Agency Revolution starts: thousands of independent P&C agencies already paying us to communicate with their clients, plus deep integrations into the systems where agency data actually lives.

The opportunity is the relationship layer — the system that notices when an agency's clients are at risk of churning, spots the cross-sell opportunity, picks the right message and channel and moment, and acts. We call it RelationshipOS. For ten years, agencies have trusted us to speak to their clients. Now we're expanding what we can see: call transcripts, carrier communications, life events. The policies live in the agency's management system. The relationship lives with us. Nobody else has both the permission and the infrastructure.

We know what we're betting on. We don't yet know what makes an agency owner act on it. That's the job.

The strategic thesis is set. What's unresolved is whether it's true — whether an agency will actually change what they do because our system told them to, and what has to be built for that to happen. You're hired to answer that by shipping, not by studying.

Two halves, and you need both:

You personally build the bet. The intelligence layer is your work. Discovery with agency owners, prototypes in front of them within days, the smallest version that proves someone will act. Much of this is assembled rather than authored — the right vendor wired into AR Connect and pointed at a real use case will beat anything we could build from scratch this year. You don't hand this half to your team; it's too early and too ambiguous to delegate.

Your team drives the day-to-day execution and health of the existing platform. Two Product Owners and a Product Analyst keep a profitable, decade-old product healthy and improving. You set their priorities, strengthen their product judgment, raise their craft, and shield them from thrash. You remain the primary product manager responsible for the roadmap, discovery, and strategic product decisions. Done well, this is what buys you the time to do the first half.

Most people are good at one of these. We need someone who won't quietly abandon the other.

Compensation

This position offers $125,000-$140,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities & Expectations

RelationshipOS — the intelligence layer. Churn signals. Cross-sell opportunities. Adaptive customer journeys instead of rigid sequences. You define what "acted on" means, instrument it, and are accountable for the number.

AR Connect and the vendor stack. AR Connect is our integration layer — where APIs pull in calls, carrier communications, life events, and other signals, and where third-party capability plugs into our distribution. It's the substrate the whole thesis sits on, and it's how a promising vendor becomes a live use case in front of agencies.

That work is yours: mapping the landscape of management systems, carrier connections, data enrichment providers, and AI vendors; deciding what we integrate versus build; running the POCs; and getting from "interesting demo" to something an agency actually uses. Data quality, latency, unit economics, and what happens when a vendor's model is wrong are your problems to surface early. You shape the deals and bring the recommendation — the SVP and our partnership team close them.

Voice AI as a channel. Not a feature — a real channel. Define the MVP, run pilots where AI handles outbound outreach with warm handoffs to agencies, and produce the evidence for whether this moves us from subscription toward outcome-based pricing.

The Agency Revolution roadmap. What ships, in what order, and what we stop doing. You own the sequencing and defend it.

The modernization question. Agency Revolution is profitable and proven, built on aging foundations. You need a point of view on what to rebuild, what to retire, and what to leave alone because thousands of agencies depend on it — including how far AR should converge with FMG's platform. You won't make that call alone. You’ll produce the work that makes the decision possible, and your recommendation will carry significant weight in the room.

The same is true of pricing model changes and major partnerships: your analysis and recommendation, the SVP's decision. If you'd rather hold the pen on those today, this is the wrong seat — but it’s a seat with room to grow into broader product leadership as the business expands.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in a SaaS company
  • 1+ year of experience in the P&C insurance or insurtech industry
  • Experience personally leading product discovery, prototyping, launch, and iteration — not just managing a backlog
  • Experience managing or directly coaching Product Managers, Product Owners, or similar product team members
  • Experience working with AI-enabled products, third-party integrations, vendors, and build-vs-buy decisions
  • Strong product judgment in ambiguous, early-stage environments
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and turning discovery into shipped product quickly
  • Experience owning roadmap and prioritization for an established SaaS product
  • Strong written communication and ability to make clear recommendations and decisions
Your Team

Two Product Owners and one Product Analyst. They’re close to the product and the customer, and they’ve kept a complicated platform running. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering leadership.

They are not three autonomous Product Managers running separate product lines. You will carry the core product strategy and discovery work while helping the team develop broader ownership over time. Your job is to sharpen their prioritization and problem definition, strengthen their product judgment, and help them grow without turning yourself into an approval bottleneck.

How You'll Work

We care as much about method as outcomes, because at this stage method is what produces outcomes.

  • Discovery is continuous. You're talking to agency owners weekly, not commissioning research quarterly.
  • Prototypes beat documents. The fastest way to resolve an argument here is to build the thing badly and put it in front of someone.
  • Instrument before you ship. If you can't tell whether it worked, it didn't.
  • Write to think. Short, sharp documents that make a recommendation. We don't do heavyweight process artifacts.
  • Continuous flow, not sprints. You sequence your own work and your team's, and you're held to what ships.
The First Year
  • First 90 days: you know the platform's real constraints, you've talked to enough agency owners to have your own thesis (not ours), and you've shipped something small into the intelligence layer.
  • Six months: a version of RelationshipOS is live with design partners — at least one capability delivered through a vendor on AR Connect rather than built — and you can say with evidence whether agencies act on it.
  • Twelve months: the bet is either proven enough to fund harder, or you've told us clearly and early that it isn't. Both are good outcomes. Only ambiguity at month twelve is a bad one.
What You Won't Carry

Enterprise account management. Dedicated teams own strategic relationships. You inform product strategy behind big deals; you don't project-manage them.

Support firefighting. Customer success owns escalation, including top accounts. You're not the last resort.

Design staffing. Our UX lead owns experience quality and the design team. You partner with her.

Who Thrives Here

AI-first by default.  You reach for the fastest credible way to test an assumption, often using a model, an agent, a vendor, or a rough prototype before writing a detailed specification. You have real opinions about where LLMs are reliable enough to put in front of an agency owner and where they aren’t — opinions you formed by shipping, not by reading. If your instinct is to turn uncertainty into a quarter of research and specification before putting anything in front of a customer, this isn’t the role.

Player-coach because you think it makes better products. Not because you have to be. You believe the person talking to the agency owner should be close to the person shaping the build, and you're willing to do both jobs well in the same week.

You’ve managed, or you’re clearly ready to. Three people who need coaching is a real management job, not a title perk. They will need direction, prioritization, and development, but you will not be managing a team of autonomous Product Managers.

Leverage over headcount. When work grows, your first instinct is an agent, a vendor, an integration, or a sharper system — not a hiring req. You'd rather integrate a proven platform in a quarter than build it yourself in a year, and you're comfortable being the person who has to make someone else's technology work in our product.

You decide fast and know which decisions are reversible. Most are. You iterate on those and reserve rigor for architecture and partnerships.

Insurance distribution fluency is a strong plus. If you've sat across from independent P&C agency owners and know why their data is messy, you'll move much faster — and this role transfers a decade of founder knowledge to whoever takes it. But we'd rather hire craft and speed and teach the vertical than the reverse.

You want a bet, not a backlog. You'll be measured on whether agencies adopt the intelligence layer and what it does to revenue.

Future Org Design

You'll report to the SVP of Product, who founded Agency Revolution — direct access to the person with the deepest model of this business, and an explicit mandate to transfer it to you. We also intend to hire a Director of Product as the business unit expands into life, annuities, and benefits. We'd rather you hear that now than discover it later.

This role will remain focused on building and scaling Agency Revolution’s core product and the RelationshipOS bet. Strong performance should create opportunities for broader product ownership as the portfolio and team expand.

At FMG, we believe in the wholehearted acceptance of each other regardless of our differences. We strive to foster an environment that allows everyone to contribute to our mission in their unique ways. With the belief that diversity propels innovation, we are continually finding ways to cultivate a commitment to inclusion in our employees, services, and products, as well as in the communities in which we live and work.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunities regardless of sex, race, creed, color, gender, religion, marital status, domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, pregnancy, military or veteran status, and genetic information.  If you require accommodation to complete the application or interview process, please contact View email address on fmgsuite.applytojob.com .
