Events and Catering Coordinator

Events SpecialistThe events specialist plans, coordinates, and improves special events designed in order to bring back guests. Negotiates contracts and obtains competitive bids from vendors to ensure the lowest bid with the highest quality of service and products.Qualifications:1. Must speak Fluent English.2. Must have a valid Driver's License and a mode of transportation.3. Must be 21 years of age or older.4. Must have at least 1 (one) year of experience in the Food and Beverage or Hospitality industry.5. Must have a High School Diploma.6. Must be available to work at least 20 hours a week.7. Cannot have a Felony or Misdemeanor on record.8. Must have two valid forms of identification that qualifies employee to work in the United States.9. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Essential FunctionsMaintain a fun, positive, interactive, and enthusiastic environment for all events.Plan event details and aspects including seating, dining, and overall Guest experience.Ensure proper training for event hosts.Verify all selected event options and ensure everything is in place prior to the start of the event.Ensure event room/area is clean and set up prior to event and cleaned up after event.Ensure event team greets Guests in a warm and friendly manner.Maintain the flow of events and help execute all tasks within the required timeframe.Ensure and enforce that all Guests are following safety guidelines.Handle Guest concerns in a professional and timely manner and connect with Manager on Duty if necessary.Address Guest questions in a professional manner.Handle inbound calls and book events.Other duties as assigned.Excellent verbal and written communications skills; must be comfortable speaking to small and large groups of Guests.Excellent customer service skills.A strong attention to detail.Must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products.Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully.CompetenciesCommunication Proficiency.Business acumen.Customer/Client Focus.Decision Making.Financial Management.Results Driven.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position may supervise and evaluate special events staff.Work EnvironmentMay have to work long hours, weekends, and holidays.Physical DemandsThe employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
