Advanced Practice Provider – Part‑Time City of Hope’s mission is to make hope a reality for all touched by cancer and diabetes. This part‑time role provides professional medical services within the scope of services, primarily in oncology or hematology. The position requires a minimum of three shifts per week, 8:30 to 4:30pm, with flexible days. Candidates may be Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. Job Responsibilities Utilize critical judgment in comprehensive health assessment, differential diagnosis, ordering, conducting, interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribing pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness. Conduct comprehensive physical examinations. Initiate and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to the patient’s current status. Critically analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses. Prioritize diagnoses using appropriate complex clinical reasoning. Develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care that includes interventions and treatments to attain expected outcomes. Address strategies for improving health status that reflect current health‑care knowledge, research and practice. Involve patient, family, and other health‑care team members, including community resources, in the plan of treatment. Make independent decisions in solving complex patient‑care problems. Collaborate with health‑team members to establish priorities, manage care and coordinate efforts to achieve desired outcomes. Utilize appropriate or specialized knowledge and skills in the provision of direct patient care. Prescribe, order, or implement interventions and treatments for the care plan. Prescribe or dispense drugs and devices in accordance with state and federal laws, regulations, and Board of Nursing authorization. Utilize extensive awareness of community assets and resources when making referrals and outreach. Job Qualifications Minimum two years of experience or commensurate training/experience. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program or holder of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Nurse Practitioner credential. Licensed and certified to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Arizona or as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Arizona. Certification in American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS). Oncology or Hematology experience preferred. Minimum availability of three shifts per week, 8:30 to 4:30pm, days flexible.
