Mechanic (Machining & Maintenance)

McBee, SC | Full-Time

Hourly Rate: $27-36 +Benefits

We’re looking for a skilled, mechanically inclined professionals who take pride in craftsmanship, thrives in a hands-on environment, and want to play a critical role in keeping our operations running at peak performance.

 

What You’ll Do

As a Mechanic, you’ll combine machining expertise with maintenance support to ensure equipment reliability, precision, and efficiency:

 

  • Set up and operate machining equipment based on blueprints and technical drawings
  • Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting methods for optimal results
  • Secure and position workpieces using fixtures, chucks, and hoists
  • Fabricate and modify custom jigs, fixtures, and parts
  • Measure and verify parts meet tight tolerances and specifications
  • Perform and support preventive maintenance on machining equipment and support systems (air, lubrication, coolant)
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist maintenance mechanics/electricians
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement and cross-training initiatives
  • Mentor and assist less experienced team members

 

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED (technical degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of machining and/or mechanical experience OR equivalent hands-on expertise
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Your own tools

 

Experience with: Machining operations (manual or CNC exposure a plus), Tool selection, feeds/speeds, and material behavior, Precision measurement tools

  • Mechanical aptitude with exposure to industrial equipment maintenance
  • Safety-first mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree in Machine Tool Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Experience in a heavy industrial or metals environment
