RN FNE/SANE

UCHealth, a leading nonprofit healthcare system in Colorado, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Forensic Nurse Examiner / Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (FNE/SANE). In this critical role, the RN FNE/SANE will provide specialized care to patients who are victims of sexual assault or other violent crimes, conducting forensic examinations and working closely with legal entities to ensure the appropriate collection of evidence. Responsibilities Conduct forensic medical examinations and collect evidence for individuals who have experienced sexual assault or other crimes. Collaborate with law enforcement and legal teams to ensure evidence is collected and handled in accordance with legal standards. Provide physical and emotional support to patients during examinations and recovery. Document findings meticulously in patient records and legal reports. Participate in on‑call duties to ensure 24/7 coverage for emergency forensic needs. Stay updated with the latest practices in forensic nursing and participate in continuous education and training. Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of Colorado. Strong clinical skills in a hospital setting. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Empathetic and compassionate patient care. Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy in evidence handling. Completion of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training program accredited by the International Association of Forensic Nurses. Certification as a SANE (SANE‑A and/or SANE‑P) preferred.
