CDL Class A Driver – Locomotive Fueling (Laborer) - HOME DAILY - Southeast Chicago - Nightshift Position #: 177 Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver License Class: A Openings: 1 About the Opportunity Velocity Rail Solutions is seeking a dependable CDL Class A Driver with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements – No Automatic Restriction to join our elite team fueling locomotives. This night shift position offers consistent, full-time hours, weekly pay, and year‑round stability – no weather or seasonal slowdowns. You’ll be paid for a full 12‑hour shift – including breaks, lunch, and dispatch wait time – providing income you can count on. Location Southeast Chicago Compensation $64,896 + Annually Schedule Guaranteed 48‑hour PM shift schedule: 5 PM – 5 AM with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday OFF Overtime pay after 40 hours. Vehicle Manual transmission tractor with tanker (10‑speed). Responsibilities / Job Duties Work safely at all times without incident. The employee is empowered to stop work at any time due to unsafe conditions. Follow step‑by‑step procedures when fueling and defueling locomotives, railroad equipment, and direct to storage. Remain fully loaded and readily available while on duty to answer customer dispatches and respond in a timely manner. Provide complete and accurate fuel accounting paperwork in the prescribed manner within established timelines. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Conduct pre and post shift vehicle and equipment inspections. Use worker protection when required and follow all customer safety rules and regulations. Control, contain and report any spill or incident (operational and/or safety related) immediately to management. Assist with light maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles and equipment. Assist with cleanliness and organization of the company‑provided office space, storage, etc. Ensure all training is current and kept up to date. Be a reliable, safe, and positive team member that demonstrates commitment with proper attendance, verbal or written communication, and conduct. Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or Site Leader. Requirements / Qualifications Must have a valid Class A CDL with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements. No automatic restriction. Pass all refinery carding requirements and maintain current refinery certifications at all times. Clear all background checks required by the company, customer and government. Maintain all required licenses and certifications at all times. Read, write and understand English. Be reliable and dependable. Know when to ask for help. Have moderate computer skills. Work independently and with minimal supervision. Be willing to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays; shifts may rotate. Walk long distances on paved or unmaintained or uneven surfaces. Climb in and out of a truck cab multiple times per shift, and climb a ladder or steps 10 or more times per day. Drive and work outside in adverse weather conditions. Work with liquid non‑hazardous & dry bulk materials. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
