Triumph Group Responsibilities The Quality Inspection Supervisor oversees daily inspection activities to ensure products meet AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role leads a team of inspectors, manages inspection processes, drives continuous improvement, and ensures documentation accuracy throughout the product lifecycle, while maintaining a strict adherence to aerospace quality standards. Key Responsibilities Inspection Oversight – Supervise incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, AS9100, and FAA requirements. Team Leadership – Train, mentor, and evaluate inspection personnel; assign work based on skill level and production priorities. AS9100 Compliance – Ensure inspection processes, documentation, and records meet AS9100 and customer‑specific quality standards. FAA 14 CFR Part 21 Compliance – Familiarize with applicable regulations. Nonconformance Management – Review and disposition nonconforming material; collaborate with MRB and engineering to drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to improve inspection efficiency, reduce defects, and strengthen process controls. Department Calibration Oversight – Ensure inspection tools and gauges are properly maintained and calibrated. Document & Training Management – Create, revise, manage, and train in Quality Inspection procedures, forms, and standard work. Documentation Accuracy – Maintain inspection records, reports, and traceability documentation in accordance with aerospace standards. Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and quality engineering to resolve issues and support continuous improvement. Audit Support – Participate in internal and external audits; ensure readiness and corrective action follow‑through. Safety & Compliance – Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements. Required Qualifications 3‑5+ years in aerospace or precision manufacturing quality inspection. Prior supervisory or leadership experience overseeing inspection or quality teams. Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and inspection methodologies. Proficient with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other precision instruments. Working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace customer requirements. Experience with root‑cause analysis tools such as 5‑Why, Fishbone, or similar. Familiarity with QMS software, ERP systems, and digital inspection tools. Preferred Qualifications Programming of CMMs (PC‑DMIS, Camio, Zeiss, or equivalent). FAA 14 CFR Part 21 familiarization with associated regulations. Lean/Continuous Improvement experience. ASQ certifications such as CQT, CQI, or CQE. Previous FAA DMIR experience. Statistical analysis experience. Six Sigma and Lean experience. Core Competencies Attention to detail and accuracy. Decision‑making under pressure. Communication skills across departments. Problem‑solving and analytical thinking. Time management in a fast‑paced environment. Structured problem‑solving tools (PFMEA, DOE, 5‑why, etc.). Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Excellent communication and organization of multiple concurrent tasks. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and inspection equipment. Occasional overtime based on production needs.
