Plan, implement, and coordinate production and material processes to enable the efficient initiation, production and timely shipments of product that conforms to company requirements and customer expectations. Essential Functions Coordinates all activities related to procurement commodity and following up with intent to purchase through the delivery process Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and date commodity needed for production utilization Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company Maintains a timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records Schedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required. MRP Systems – the process of ensuring materials and products are available for production and delivery to customers, maintaining the lowest possible level of inventory and planning manufacturing activities, delivery schedules and purchasing activities. Regularly solicits current lead time from suppliers and maintains item master with up to date lead time information. Develop and maintain daily/weekly schedules (dispatch list) for production Support the development of the monthly ship schedule (30-day) with Customer Orders to track status and revenue to plan Participate in daily meeting with manufacturing management to communicate daily schedules and status of performance to plan Ensure material and labor resource availability at start of production MO’s. Qualifications Education and Professional Certifications The ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or supply chain. Experience Requires two (2) plus years purchasing and procurement experience in a manufacturing setting. This position requires a minimum of four (4) years experience working within a MRP environment and scheduling a manufactured product. Must have basic computer skills Knowledge and Skills Purchasing Processes (Supply Agreements, Blanket Ordering, Vendor Follow-up, etc.) Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, have a positive professional demeanor To Apply Location Gentex’s Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia. The area hosts numerous nearby state parks, nature preserves and local colleges and universities, including The University of Scranton and Marywood University.
