TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Meridian, Idaho, 83642!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Women's Services - Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable, Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: - Labor and Delivery experience - Postpartum experience - Circulating experience - Triage experience preferred Description: Unit includes 10 Labor and Delivery beds. There are 2 OR suites on the unit for C-Sections. Labor and Delivery RNs would circulate. There are 4 triage beds available. 10 postpartum beds are also located on the unit. The average number of births per month is about 120. Staff follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios, primarily maintaining 1:1 in Labor and Delivery and 1:6 couple care in Postpartum. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring. Common diagnoses include laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, elective inductions, medical inductions, stable antepartum patients, postpartum patients, and well newborns. RNs are required to titrate drips, primarily Pitocin per protocol and magnesium, with insulin being rare. Each shift includes a Charge RN, Resource RN, and House Supervisor. Charge RN and Resource RN do not have assigned patients. CNA support is available for the floor 4-5 days and nights per week, and a unit clerk is present 24/7. Obstetric hospitalists are in-house 24/7, with midwives always on-call. Neonatal nurse practitioners are on-site 24/7, and a Neonatologist is available within 15 minutes. Anesthesia coverage includes CRNA available 24/7. There are no Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit. The electronic fetal monitoring system used is GE Connect. Shifts are 12 hours long, with schedules based on unit needs. Employees cannot work more than five consecutive shifts. Weekend and holiday requirements are based on unit needs. There is no call or standby requirement. Travelers are required to float to similar units as needed, with advance notice provided prior to the shift. Blue scrubs are provided for the unit. Customized orientation is based on each traveler, typically involving 4-6 shifts. The charting system utilized is EPIC. A BSN is not required. This position operates in an acute care setting. Trauma level specifics are not indicated.
