Project EngineerCepeda Systems and Software Analysis is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Project Engineer to join our expanding team in Houston, TX. This position involves sustaining tasks for CMC hardware and supporting projects related to the development and certification of spaceflight hardware for NASA's International Space Station (ISS), Orion, Human Landing System (HLS), and Commercial Programs. The crew provisions hardware systems oversee both flight and non-flight hardware for crew members in preparation throughout their time in space. This role demands flexible and, at times, expedited support to ensure crew members are properly equipped for their missions. Alongside a team of colleagues, shared responsibilities for this role include maintaining, repairing, researching, developing, preparing, delivering, and managing inventory for both flight and non-flight hardware items.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Provide support for Crew Provisions Subsystem by handling the selection, procurement, configuration, inspection, packing, and delivery of spaceflight hardwarePerform analytical integration and physical processing activities to support pressurized cargo requirementsPerform Maintenance and Operations (M&O) and Sustaining Engineering (SE) functions for the Crew Provisions hardware systemPresent briefing material, data, analyses and technical input for status and to support decision making at the various NASA Program reviews, control boards, panels, forums, working groups, and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), including but not limited to International Space Station, Orion, Human Landing System programsRepresent the Sustaining Engineering department at CMC as a subject matter expert for the Crew Provisions hardware group in both internal and external customer meetings alongside other team membersInterface and coordinate effectively with subcontractors, customers, and team members to ensure seamless project execution and collaborationPresent ongoing and completed work to internal management boards and external customers; provide timely and effective communication regarding status and needsManage Requests for Support (RFS) and Manifest Requests (MR), and handle authoring and monitoring of work orders, purchase requests, job plans, non-conformance reports, internal and external customer presentations, designs, and trade studiesPerform pre-flight processing, assembly, delivery, and stowage of hardwareRequired Education:Bachelor's degreeRequired Experience:Experience using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePointAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentOrganized, proactive, and communicates clearlyAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience working with multi-discipline teams and customersPreferred Experience:A good understanding and working knowledge of the CMC sustained tools and frequently used NASA tools (Maximo, EDCC/JEDII, EDMS, CDS, MIDAS Prime)Experience certifying flight hardwareExperience presenting subject matter to multidiscipline groupsRequired Skills/Knowledge:Outstanding verbal and written communication skillsFlexibility and ability to juggle multiple projectsRequired Clearance:U.S. Citizenship is RequiredWhat We Offer:Our industry-leading benefits package goes above and beyond competitive salary commensuration for those just beginning their career and seasoned professionals alike.
