Job Summary The Lead Technician I must lead each phase of the mitigation and/or environmental project from the initial stage to completion. This position reports directly to the Supervisor and may be co‑managed by the Project Manager and/or Branch Manager of that location. Interfacing with other departments within the company may be required. Key Responsibilities Maintain regular communications with key stakeholders—including Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator—to discuss project schedules, scope changes, materials, and personnel resources. Perform necessary tasks to help expedite job completion, such as picking up and ordering materials, moving client contents, and performing repairs at the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards. Lead a small group of technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters. Maintain company‑assigned vehicle and restock supplies as necessary. Complete and turn in crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day. Serve as a role model in following and enforcing company policy and safety procedures while performing services. Assist in developing technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging skill development. Assist in job‑site safety briefings, providing training within scope of knowledge. Complete timecards in a timely and accurate manner and ensure crew members do the same. Turn in completed work orders—including measurements, moisture readings, and detailed paperwork—for the Project Manager to complete billing. Maintain trade skills through regular training, as provided by the company. Continue building knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support individual professional growth. Experience & Requirements Minimum 1‑year experience in a lead technician role in construction, restoration/mitigation, or equivalent experience through successful completion of Tech III job requirements. Valid driver’s license with a Class C license and a good‑standing driving record. Must be insurable. Understanding of safety guidelines, application to daily tasks, and accountability of crew for compliance. Awareness of company handbook/policies, SOPs and adherence to guidelines; communicates desired outcomes and shares with crew through application of SOPs in daily activities. Supports development of technicians (crew) through demonstration and encouragement of growth opportunities. Good knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and other miscellaneous equipment required to complete the job. Continuous growth mindset, open to feedback, and applies what is learned for self and for teaching others. Good grasp of the English language (read, write, verbal). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Able to pass respirator physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam. Can interpret and apply basic instructions (e.g., material data sheets). Industry certifications preferred, with ability to pass medical exams if required for certification. Safety Requirements Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear as dictated by role and job‑site conditions. Practice ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, including proper desk setup and posture while seated. Follow established office safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment, ensuring workspaces are free from clutter to prevent trips and falls. Complete all mandatory safety training sessions, including hazard communication, emergency response, and safe equipment handling. Identify and immediately report any unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, or injuries to supervisors without fear of retaliation. Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures relevant to your specific job site, including evacuation routes and emergency contacts. Physical Requirements Lifting and carrying materials up to 25 lb regularly; up to 50 lb with assistance. Perform tasks that require walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, climbing, squatting, crawling, lifting above shoulder, reaching, and twisting. Prolonged sitting or standing required (office, driving, job sites) with regular alternation. Continuous repetitive motion, including L/R hand movements (computer/mouse), wrists, and arms (e.g., typing, data entry). Operate machinery and tools requiring fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination. Clear vision required for close work, computer use, and eye coordination. Working Conditions Office Environment Indoor office setting for corporate roles, involving standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers) and regular meetings (in‑person or Zoom) with team members. Field Environment Outdoor fieldwork at restoration sites, which may include residential, commercial, or industrial properties; duties may involve various weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat). Hazardous Environments Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, or contaminants specific to restoration work with strict adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE. Work after hours and weekends due to 24/7 business operations. Travel Requirements Travel to and from job sites, using company vehicles; possible attendance at out‑of‑town training or conferences.
