Senior Tax Accountant

About Samsung Austin Semiconductor Position Summary This position is responsible for income tax activities, including federal tax returns, federal tax provision, state tax apportionment, and other reporting for the company. The accountant reports directly to the tax manager, coordinating with accounting personnel, various departments, external consultants, and monitoring tax legislative changes to ensure compliance with critical deadlines. Roles and Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions and corporate tax returns. Prepare state apportionment data, review state filings by third parties, and make estimated payments. Lead the annual R&D tax credit program in collaboration with consulting firms and SMEs. Assist in the Investment Tax Credit (48D) modeling. Prepare corporate tax estimates quarterly and provide data to NAHQ for ETR quarterly reporting. Provide data to consulting firms for Cost Segregation Studies and QBAI calculations for FDII. Analyze financial statement data annually for APA compliance with external consultants. Work closely with the tax manager on audit IDR responses and information gathering. Conduct per‑quarter internal control reviews to test the accuracy of financial reporting and submit documentation via the internal control portal. Submit tax forecasts to Treasury and perform ad‑hoc tax research. Attend to tax‑related requests and responsibilities as assigned. Skills and Qualifications BBA/BS in Accounting. Minimum of 3–5 years of federal and state corporate tax experience in public accounting or industry. CPA preferred. Excellent understanding of federal and state income tax laws, rules, and regulations. Knowledge of Investment Tax Credit (48D) analysis. Proficiency with SAP and advanced Excel skills. Flexible, team‑oriented, and highly detail‑oriented. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $65,000 – $107,500.
