What You’ll Do:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including those with respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and vascular issues.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret strips, and respond promptly to changes.
• Manage ventilators, trachs, chest tubes, and drains with confidence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with all clinical protocols and safety standards.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a large hospital setting, preferably Level 1.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
• Ventilator management experience and ability to interpret EKG strips.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS; NIH Stroke Certification and cardiac drips experience preferred.
• Ability to pass an online EKG telecompetency assessment.
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and triage skills.
• Ability to float as needed within specialty clusters and high-risk units.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with NIH Stroke protocols.
• Experience with managing chest tubes and drains.
• Prior travel nursing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret complex medical data swiftly and accurately.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Active RN license in any state; compact licenses accepted.
• Experience working in a high-acuity step-down or ICU setting.
• Familiarity with ventilators and cardiac monitors.

Other Requirements:

• Availability for 12-hour night shifts (4x12s) and every other weekend/holiday.
• Must complete required modules during orientation and annually (self-reported hours).
• Must be flexible to float within designated facility units, supporting high-risk respiratory or COVID units when necessary.
• Travel candidates must complete necessary compliance requirements timely, including lab work and EKG testing within 72 hours of signing.
• Must be available within a 50-mile radius for nursing candidates.
• No more than 14 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed; RTO requests must be included at application.
