Inventory Coordinator

Position Summary

Hire-Nelson Company, a leading architectural millwork manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and material flow throughout our manufacturing operation.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available at the right time by maintaining accurate inventory within our ERP system, managing warehouse processes, and supporting production, purchasing, and project management teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory within our ERP system (Innergy experience is a plus).
• Perform routine cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Receive, verify, and organize incoming materials.
• Ensure all inventory transactions are entered accurately and promptly.
• Manage inventory locations, bin organization, and warehouse layout.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to Purchasing.
• Coordinate material movement between inventory, work orders, and production.
• Maintain accurate inventory labeling and identification.
• Develop and improve inventory processes and standard operating procedures.
• Track inventory metrics and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inventory management experience in manufacturing.
• Experience using an ERP system (Innergy, Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
• Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with production, purchasing, and project management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or custom manufacturing.
• Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
• Experience reading material lists, work orders, and production documents.
• Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
