Description: RN's must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%. Candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities. Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails in all patient care departments. Refusal to comply with this policy can lead to termination. The unit implements a new nursing model with updated ratios. The nursing ratio for Medical/Surgical will be 1:6 or 1:7. CNA ratios will also be 1:6 or 1:7, with a virtual nurse supporting a ratio of 1:30. There are 42 beds on the unit, catering to medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients. A charge nurse is present on each shift and will take an assignment. No titratable drips are administered except for Heparin. Respiratory Therapy is available 24 hours on the floor. Centralized telemetry monitoring is provided. Patient care techs are present with a ratio of 1:6 or 1:7. Shifts scheduled for 0630 to 1900 or 1830 to 0700. Weekend and holiday requirements exist as needed. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating may be required to other units. Scrub color required is navy blue. The first week includes classroom training followed by two shifts on the floor. Time-off requests need to be submitted upfront, with limited additional approval. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of canceled shifts per assignment. Charting is managed using a specific electronic health record system. A BSN is not required for submission.
