A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A ROUTE DRIVER As a Route Driver, you will collect and transport raw materials from a broad customer base back to facilities and transfer stations. Customers range from small-scale butchers, grocers, and restaurants to large-scale food processors. You will operate a straight truck or tractor‑trailer, climbing in and out of your vehicle and operating lift equipment as part of your daily routine. Using an onboard computer (OBC) and maintaining a backup paper log for compliance, you will keep your truck clean, complete a daily vehicle condition report, and provide exceptional customer service while adhering to all laws and regulations. You’ll hit the road for a living while spending most nights at home. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A ROUTE DRIVER Must be at least 21 years old Authorized to work in the U.S. Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsements Good driving record IN ADDITION, YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING Customer service skills Two years of experience operating a commercial vehicle in a route delivery setting and experience with truck hydraulics are preferred, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. We want a candidate who communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, is organized with superior time‑management skills, maintains composure in difficult situations, adapts easily to change, and works well with others. ROUTE DELIVERY WORK SCHEDULE All route delivery drivers operate within their local area with occasional overnight travel.
