Senior Business Systems Analyst

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering: Work directly with retail business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to, payment gateways, and inventory management.

POS/Integration Analysis: Analyze current retail store systems and design improvements for store POS applications, peripheral integration, and store networking.

Documentation: Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, and data flow diagrams.

Payment & Compliance: Work with payment vendors to support payment processing, terminal configuration, and PCI-DSS compliance requirements.

System Integration: Define and validate integration requirements between POS and downstream systems, including ERP, CRM, loyalty platforms, and e-commerce platforms.

UAT & Testing: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, create test cases, and validate POS functionality during upgrades or new rollouts.

Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Scrum/Agile development teams, managing backlogs and translating business needs into technical specifications.

Required Skills & Experience

Retail Domain Expertise: 8+ years of experience in retail/CPG consulting or solution delivery.

POS Knowledge: Strong experience with retail POS ecosystems (e.g., Oracle Xstore, Veras, JDA, or similar).

Payments & Integrations: Proven experience with payment gateways, payment processing, and integrations (API, SOAP/REST).

Tools: Proficient in SQL for data analysis, JIRA, and Visio for process mapping.

Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills, comfortable working in a matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud-native applications and microservices (AWS).

Hands-on experience with Java/XML (often required for Xstore customizations).

Experience in retail-store technology rollouts, cutover planning, and post-deployment support
