CNC Programmer Mastercam Specialist
Location: Leander, TX
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $35.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience
About the Role
American Made Solutions (AMS) is connecting with a growing precision manufacturing partner in Leander, TX, and we are looking for a highly skilled CNC Programmer who is confident in Mastercam and hands-on machining. This individual will act as the lead programmer on-site, taking ownership of programming projects, machine setup, and quality output across CNC mills and lathes.
What Youll Be Doing
- Develop and edit CNC programs using Mastercam
- Set up and run CNC mills and/or lathes, ensuring first-piece accuracy
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, GD&T, and job travelers
- Perform quality checks with precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Diagnose and correct machining or programming issues on the fly
- Work closely with engineering and quality personnel to enhance machining efficiencies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized machining area
What Youll Need to Bring
- 3+ years working in a CNC machining environment
- 2+ years programming with Mastercam
- Strong grasp of tooling, cutting parameters, and material behaviors (steel, aluminum, plastics, etc.)
- Confident in reading technical drawings and applying GD&T
- Ability to work autonomously while being a strong contributor to a production team
- Bonus Skills (Not Required but a Plus)
- Experience programming 3-, 4-, or 5-axis equipment
- Exposure to CAD platforms such as SolidWorks
- Background in high-mix, low-volume production environments or custom job shop work
