Orthopedic AVSC Floater Technician (ANML HEALTH TCHN 3 VMTH)

Job Summary Under the direction of the Small Animal Surgical Services/Anesthesia manager and the Orthopedic Surgery/Advanced Veterinary Surgery Center (AVSC) supervisor, this role facilitates the scheduling of Orthopedic Surgery patients, manages patient care and client communication within the Orthopedic Surgery Service, and supports surgical procedures as an assistant, circulator, and anesthesia provider. Minimum Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) License. Valid California driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with local policies. No minimum education required. Experience calculating and administering medications intravenously, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or orally. Experience with animal restraint, venipuncture, and placement of vascular and urinary catheters. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with diverse students, staff, clinicians, and clients. Ability to navigate challenging situations and individuals with tact and professionalism. Proficiency in administering and maintaining anesthesia and overseeing recovery in veterinary patients. Preferred Qualifications Experience handling complications of surgical procedures and responding quickly to surgeons and patient needs. Flexibility and adaptability in a changing, fast‑paced environment. Skill in aseptic scrubbing, gowning, and gloving. Team‑oriented mindset to foster collaboration toward surgery service goals.
