Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.The Equipment Operator will contribute to a coke-handling team by operating several pieces of equipment that will help move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution.Here is what you will be doing:Operate any one of the following on a daily basis: a CAT 980 Loader (or equivalent) and a CAT D8 (or equivalent) DozerAssist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations, i.e. maintenance, clean-up, safety observations and inspectionsPerform thorough pre and post-trip inspectionsMaintain cleanliness of equipmentExpand personal knowledge of operating equipmentReport maintenance issues to the maintenance crewUnderstand our critical service requirements and ensure they are metTake an active role in our safety program, including attendance at all safety meetings, and ensure safe behaviorsEnsure environmental complianceRequirements of a successful Material Handling Operator:Active driver's licenseExtensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipmentRead, write, speak, and understand EnglishShould understand best practices for maintaining and safely operating Heavy EquipmentSafety-conscious and understand safe work practicesComfortable with heights, including the ability to walk up and down conveyor belt lines and climb laddersPass a drug screen, possess a current Driver's License and TWIC card at the time of applyingHere are some of the physical requirements for this role:You will be working outdoors and, as a result, are exposed to the elementsHandle large tools and equipment up to (60 lbs.)Climb on and off equipmentAscend and descend laddersWork shift work, weekends, and holidays
