Radiology Technologist 1

Job Summary Radiologic Technologist I operates imaging equipment to produce images of designated portions of the body as ordered by the physician. The technologist positions and instructs patients for radiological or fluoroscopic examinations, adjusts imaging equipment, and determines the proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each image. The technologist may prepare patients for x‑ray by administering IV and non‑IV contrast. Technologists focus on infant, children and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. All imaging staff must address family and patient concerns to facilitate a Family‑Centered Care approach. Pay Range Minimum: $35.82 / Hour; Midpoint: $47.46 / Hour; Maximum: $59.10 / Hour. Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, and position requirements. Experience Required: Newly graduated from an accredited Radiography Program with less than six (6) months clinical experience. Preferred: One (1) year of acute‑care technologist experience in a pediatric inpatient hospital. Education Required: Graduate from an approved education program in Radiography/Radiologic Technology. Preferred: None. Training Required: None. Preferred: None. Licensure Required: Amer Reg Rad Tech - Radiography (ARRT‑R); Basic Life Support (BLS); Certified Radiologic Tech - CA - to be obtained within three (3) months of hire or transfer; Certified Radiologic Tech Fluoroscopy - CA - required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Preferred: Venipuncture Certificate. Work Environment Functional Demand: Sedentary – Very light energy level; Lift up to 15 lbs; push/pull 20 lbs cart. Physical Activity Requirements: Bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, push/pull, reaching forward, reaching overhead, sitting, squatting/kneeling/crawling, standing, walking, wrist position deviation. Health and Safety: Airborne communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, chemical, dust, particular matter, extreme noise levels, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations.
