Controller

Our client, a well-established restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee the full accounting function. This role works closely with ownership and is responsible for financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, and day-to-day accounting operations. What You'll Do Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including AP, AR, general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform bank reconciliations, cash management, and treasury activities Monitor financial performance, profitability, and key operating metrics Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses Manage sales tax filings and compliance reporting Partner with operational leaders to improve margins and control costs Maintain internal controls and support external CPA and banking relationships Assist with inventory, fixed assets, and capital expenditure tracking Support new location openings and related accounting activities What We're Looking For Accounting or finance degree preferred 3+ years of accounting experience; restaurant, hospitality, QSR, or multi-location retail experience strongly preferred Experience managing the full accounting cycle independently Strong financial reporting and month-end close experience Advanced Excel skills Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business leaders Self-starter who can operate independently in a fast-paced environment Bring your accounting expertise to a role where you'll have a seat at the table, direct access to leadership, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.
