What to Expect The Senior Dimensional Engineer is responsible for ensuring that vehicle components and assemblies meet dimensional quality targets and tolerances throughout the product lifecycle. The role leads dimensional control strategies, analysis, and improvements to achieve fit, finish, craftsmanship specs, and functional requirements across BIW, closures, and other major assemblies. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the engineer works closely with Production Teams, Sustaining Engineering, Controls, and Maintenance to define and ensure body accuracy standards, improve processes and cycle times, and drive corrective actions back to body lines in collaboration with Dimensional Engineering Technicians and the broader dimensional group. The Senior Dimensional Engineer also collaborates with the Dimensional Staff to perform dimensional investigations and supports Design, Process, and Manufacturing groups in validating part quality and tooling setup changes.
