About the Position

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: SLP Acute Care Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:30 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, SLP Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic is required - Experience in acute care and with adult and geriatric populations Description: Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Assists with the clinical supervision of assistants and aides and serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Skills required include acute care, assessment, bedside swallow evaluation, communication board, and compensatory strategies. Experience with concurrent therapy documentation and treatment is necessary. Knowledge in managing diagnoses such as CVA, degenerative diseases, dysarthria, dysphagia, and TBI is essential. Familiarity with modifying diet orders, suctioning, and using thickening agents for patient care is required. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience for this role.
