Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS; NIH (can be completed during Orientation) Must-Have: Charge experience or willingness to learn Charge duties Description: Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis. Establishes nursing care objectives. Defines nursing interventions. Provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families. Notes changing conditions and needs. Re-evaluates care objectives. Assures quality care by adhering to professional standards, policies, and regulations. Maintains cooperative relationships among healthcare team members. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control protocols. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and departmental records. Protects healthcare organization value by keeping information confidential. Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Monitors all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Instructs individuals or groups on health education, disease prevention, and management. Reviews provider's orders and communicates the nursing care plan to other healthcare team members. Provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. Resolves patient issues by conferring with involved parties. Maintains standards of professional nursing care. Promotes a culture of safety and advocates for patient safety needs. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories and examining patients. Administers medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions. Prepares patients for and assists with exams as needed. Explains procedures and treatment plans to alleviate apprehension and verify understanding. Demonstrates IV therapy competency, including care for central lines. Recognizes adverse signs and symptoms and responds appropriately in emergency situations. Supervises and delegates duties to unlicensed assistive personnel and other staff. Ensures compliance with standards regarding patient safety and accreditation. Performs other duties as needed.
