About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current TELE/PCU/Stepdown experience License: Valid state license required Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 1:5/1:6 patient ratios Description: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of current TELE/PCU/Stepdown experience. The nurse will work with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6. Experience with Meditech electronic medical records is required. A valid state or compact license must be held. Floating within the scope of practice will be necessary. Every other weekend work is required. Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated. All facilities work a schedule of 36/48 for the two-week pay period unless noted otherwise. Ratios may fluctuate based on patient census and staff availability. Orientation sessions are conducted bi-weekly. Candidates must reside within a specific distance from the facility to be considered. Assignment confirmation is required to be loaded within a specific timeframe of accepting the offer. A valid driver's license is mandatory. No candidate should be submitted to more than one job at a time. Preferred qualifications include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, and telemetry management. Skills in interpreting dysrhythmias, managing cardiac drips, and wound care are essential. Experience in managing complex medical conditions, such as renal failure and substance withdrawal, is also required. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Candidates must be willing to accept schedules including 3x12 and 4x12 shifts. Up to 7 days of requested time off will be considered, but must be presented upfront. Working during holidays is mandatory. Travel pairs are minimally accepted and will not be placed on the same shift or unit. References from a charge nurse or higher and a supervisor are needed, and both must be completed within the last year. A copy of required certifications must be provided. Candidates with any license hits or issues during background checks will need to be disclosed upfront. After completing one year of service, travelers must take a minimum of a 6-month break from the system prior to being eligible to return.
