Responsibilities/Description Underwrites residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional, FHA/HUD and internal guidelines, ensuring compliance and lender standards. Able to clearly communicate FHA, corporate, and lender guidelines to customers, loan processors, and sales associates. Able to make timely, accurate decisions on all transactions. Has thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis. May provide training/mentoring to underwriters, loan processors, and sales associates. Ensure the highest level of compliance, appraisal analysis, and fraud mitigation, working with senior management to establish credit policy, appraisal policy and underwriting signing authority. Functions will include but are not limited to, reviewing assets, financial statements, credit reports, applicable ratios, income documentation, appraisal and title. Provide excellent customer service skills; interface with all internal departments and any additional duties as required by direct supervisor. Experience Required 3-6 years of strong mortgage underwriting experience. Must have an active DE Direct Endorsement certification Excellent written and verbal communication skills are must. FHA experience and/or DE certification is a plus. VA underwriting experience is a plus. Experienced conventional underwriter. Strong eye for detail required, any additional experience with QC is a plus. Education A Business Degree is preferred but not required, or equivalent work experience. DE/CHUMS ID preferred.
