Staff Accountant / Nonprofit Accountant
Location: Los Angeles, CA

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment, managing multiple funding sources, and partnering with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and stewardship of public and private funds.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, including bank and fund reconciliations
- Prepare financial and statistical reports for government grants, contracts, and private funding sources
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with funding and reporting requirements
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
- Review and verify supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Prepare annual business and informational tax filings as required
- Monitor program spending and reconcile expenses to approved budgets
- Support contract and grant reporting while ensuring compliance with funding guidelines
- Partner with program leaders, finance staff, and operational teams on budgeting and financial analysis
- Assist with fiscal monitoring of subcontractors and collaborative partners
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations preferred
- Understanding of grant accounting, fund accounting, or restricted funding
- Experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports
- Knowledge of month-end close processes
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Required Qualifications:
- Nonprofit, grant-funded, or government-funded program experience
- Experience working with donations, grants, or contract-funded programs
- Sage experience is highly desirable but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
