Certified Caregiver Starting at $17.86 hourly Must have a AZ Certified Caregiver Certificate $2500 Sign-On Bonus (full time only / conditions apply) Shift Differential: $2.00 shift differential for hours work between 2:30pm-6:30am Offered 7 days a week! Available Schedules (subject to change): Full Time - PM (2:30pm-11:00pm) and NOC (10:30pm-7:00am) shifts Part Time - PM (2:30pm-11:00pm) and NOC (10:30pm-7:00am) shifts PRN - must pick up two shifts per pay period Must have weekend availability Location: Royal Oaks Retirement Community 10015 W. Royal Oak Road Sun City, AZ 85351 Cross streets are 99th and Grand Avenue Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Assisted Living Manager, the Caregiver provides the residents with help meeting all supervisory, personal, and directed level of care, non-medical needs in accordance with the Royal Oaks Assisted Living Care Plan. Brief Overview of Major Duties: Manages medications for residents requiring assistance and/or medication administration when authorized by a physician and has demonstrated competency with the manager or designee. Provides individualized attention to the resident to encourage each resident’s ability to maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and social well-being. Attends to the individual needs of residents, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, urinary catheter care, blood glucose monitoring, vital sign monitoring, laundry assistance or service, nutrition service, life enriching activities, or other needs in keeping with each individual’s care requirement. Protects the personal belongings of each resident, including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, furnishings, jewelry, clothing, memorabilia, etc. Observes residents for changes in condition or behavior and promptly reports these changes to the Assisted Living Manager. Answers all residents’ calls promptly and courteously, as well as anticipates needs of residents who are incapable of calling for assistance or recognizing the need for assistance. Assists with orienting residents and their families to the assisted living facility. When necessary, lifts, moves, and transports residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices. Assists and escorts residents for appointments such as the beauty shop, activities, church services, etc. Participates in activities and functions as directed. In keeping with department policy, administers to the residents and documents prescribed medications that have been premeasured and/or packaged. Assists with light housekeeping and laundry. Keeps kitchen and dining area neat, dishes in dishwasher. Straightens resident’s room, bedside table, empties commode, disposes of soiled briefs, removes trash from resident rooms, provides hydration options in rooms, etc. Has ability to write clear, concise, and accurate care plans detailing the significant events of shift. Includes the time, the care provided, requests made by resident and responses. Is detailed in reporting responses. Communicates all resolved and unresolved resident concerns and/or any unusual findings immediately to the Assisted Living Manager. Is committed to keeping confidential any sensitive information. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Has in-depth knowledge of Royal Oaks company policies and procedures. Has in-depth knowledge of safety compliance. Has computer proficiency-- Microsoft Word/Excel, Outlook and Internet Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively, and adapt to different situations. Has ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices. Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies. Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests. Education and Experience: Is at least 18 years of age. Preferably, has a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Has a minimum of three months of health related experience or CNA training. Licenses and Certifications: Has a Caregiver Certification for the State of Arizona. Has current CPR/First Aid certification card obtained in a classroom setting and in compliance with or endorsed by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or National Safety Council guidelines. Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire. Must have a Maricopa County food handler’s card prior to start date. Has a Certificate of Completion for memory care services training or obtains within 30 days of hire and complies with annual certification requirements. Physical Requirements: Is able to carry/lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently. May need to operate a fire extinguisher. Is able to assist in evacuation procedures. Can tolerate exposure to physical hazards including potential exposure to bodily fluids and associated pathogens/infectious disease, as well as potential exposure to chemicals.
