About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Pediatrics – North Carolina

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week contract. Day and night shifts available. Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5 depending on acuity. Six weekend shifts required, including two Saturdays. 4-hour hospital orientation followed by 8-hour floor shift.

Highlights:

• 19-bed combined Pediatrics and Oncology unit serving a diverse patient population
• Work alongside 22 dedicated nursing professionals in a collaborative team environment
• Utilize Cerner EMR and Alaris pump technology
• Shift staffing includes 4 RNs, 1 charge RN, 1 Respiratory Therapist, and 1 PCT
• At least one oncology-trained nurse staffed per shift to support specialized care needs
• May float to Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU based on unit needs

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Hospital-based pediatric nursing experience required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• APHON certification required for oncology assignments
• Pediatric oncology experience strongly preferred
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing complex patient care situations
