Welder/FabricatorShifts: 1st and 2nd6am-2:30 Mon-Fri2:30pm-1:00am Mon-ThursPay: $20-24 (depending on experience)Job DescriptionThis role focuses on the fabrication, assembly, and welding of metal parts using MIG and flux-cored processes in a modern, climate-controlled facility. You will interpret blueprints, operate fabrication equipment, and produce high-quality components that meet precise design specifications and tolerances.ResponsibilitiesFabricate, assemble, and weld metal parts in accordance with job specifications and design requirements.Use MIG welding machines with flux-cored wire electrode to complete assigned welding work.Operate fabrication shop machinery and equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, overhead cranes, and forklifts.Read and interpret job specifications to determine appropriate machine adjustments and material requirements.Remove welding slag, burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces to ensure clean and safe finished products.Perform minor machine maintenance, including cleaning equipment and changing consumable parts as needed.Read and interpret blueprints for intricate and complex parts to support precise fabrication and assembly.Lay out and fabricate workpieces to meet design specifications and tolerances, ensuring dimensional accuracy.Set up welding equipment properly and pass an all-position test using GMAW and FCAW-G processes.Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools, including tape measures, to verify dimensions and quality of work.Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with welding equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of experience with MIG and flux core welding.Proficiency using MIG welding machines with flux-cored wire electrode.Ability to weld in all positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead, while maintaining a consistent weld bead size.Ability to read a tape measure accurately.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, especially for intricate and complex parts.Ability to fabricate and lay out work to meet design specifications and tolerances.Ability to set up weld equipment and pass an all-position test using GMAW and FCAW-G processes.Experience using fabrication shop equipment such as welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, overhead cranes, and forklifts.Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a fabrication environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsThree to six months of work experience in heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.Familiarity with operating overhead cranes and forklifts in a production setting.Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and fabrications.Strong focus on safety and proper use of fabrication tools and equipment.Why Work Here?Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package designed to support their health, financial security, and professional growth. Fabricators work with welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other fabrication tools in a production setting. The day shift operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the night shift operates Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The facility emphasizes safety, modern equipment, and an organized shop layout to support efficient fabrication and welding operations.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
