Job Title

Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location

Rockford, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts | Onsite | 8-hour shifts with various start times (0645, 1045, 1445) | Call required approximately once per week on weeknights, every 3rd to 4th weekend, and on holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume OR environment handling 25–45 cases per day across 15 operating suites
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties including general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic procedures
• Scrubbing required as part of regular RN duties
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgical techs (1–2 per patient) and CNAs to ensure safe, efficient room turnover and patient care
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in on-call rotation, including weeknight, weekend, and holiday call assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience scrubbing in multiple surgical specialties
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced OR setting
