FTE: 0.8, Shift: Days, Schedule: 0645-1515, variable weekdays, call required, some holiday work required. Position Summary The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting with the care and preparation of the surgical patient and the operating room under the direct supervision of an operating room RN. The Surgical Technologist has responsibility for the assembly, set-up, and use of surgical instrumentation and equipment during surgical procedures. Work situations are primarily routine but may change rapidly to an emergent or critical situation, and may require both directed and independent decision-making depending on the nature of the situation. Responsibilities The description below reflects responsibilities included in the role: Assist with care and preparation of the surgical patient and operating room under direct supervision of an OR RN Assemble, set up, and use surgical instrumentation and equipment during procedures Qualifications Graduate of Certified Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience National certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred Active Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration required prior to start date Health Care Provider level CPR certification Previous experience preferred About Tacoma General Hospital MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, in the heart of Tacoma, WA, is a 367-bed regional medical center delivering cutting-edge care. Pay and Benefits We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. The pay scale is $34.32 - $56.71 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale corresponding to the applicant’s years of experience.
