Microbiology Lab Supervisor- Casa Grande, AZ

Abbott seeks a Microbiology Lab Supervisor for its Casa Grande, Arizona nutrition manufacturing facility. The role oversees quality assurance laboratory operations, including environmental monitoring, product testing, and microbial compliance, while leading and developing laboratory staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Plant Microbiology QA Laboratory operations and environmental monitoring programs
• Manage raw material, in-process, and finished product microbial testing
• Lead problem-solving efforts related to microbial contamination and quality issues
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel; manage recruitment and retention
• Interface with division and corporate teams on microbiological specifications and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related discipline
• Technical knowledge of sterilization, microbial physiology, and aseptic handling
• Understanding of disinfection and sanitization methods
• Expertise in biochemical characterization of microbial isolates
• Master's degree in Food Science or Microbiology preferred
• Two years microbiology testing experience plus two years supervisory experience preferred
