Pay: Salary $70,000

Start Date: August 10, 2026 (2026-2027 School Year)

The Columbus Organization is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join the Raymore-Peculiar School District at Shull Early Childhood for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity follows the school calendar and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by helping young learners develop the skills needed for success in the classroom and daily life.

Position Overview

The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve students' functional abilities and promote participation in educational activities. Working collaboratively with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary team members, the Occupational Therapist will provide high-quality therapy services that support student achievement and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations in accordance with physician orders and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each student's unique needs and educational goals.
• Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, activities of daily living, and functional participation within the school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and interdisciplinary team members to support student success.
• Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation and billing requirements as applicable.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to educational planning.
• Provide supervision and direction to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and rehabilitation support staff in accordance with state practice acts and professional standards.
• Promote a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment for students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program recognized by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE/AOTA).
• Current, active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Missouri or eligibility for Missouri licensure.
• Current NBCOT certification.
• One year of occupational therapy experience is strongly preferred; school-based experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
