Summary James Fuentes is seeking a personable and motivated intern to join our New York team. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the daily operations of a fast‑paced contemporary art gallery, with responsibilities spanning front‑of‑house reception, administrative support, and gallery programming. Qualified candidates will work closely with staff across departments, gaining practical experience while contributing to the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the gallery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greeting and assisting gallery visitors, managing front‑of‑house and reception operations, answering and directing phone calls, and handling voicemail Maintaining knowledge of the gallery program to answer questions about current and upcoming exhibitions Preparing the front desk and offices for client meetings, ensuring reception materials are stocked and presentation standards are maintained Managing office supplies, mail distribution, shipping, and general administrative errands Overseeing retail sales, inventory, and shipping for gallery publications and merchandise Assisting with communications, press, and outreach initiatives Supporting the planning and execution of exhibition openings, dinners, and other gallery events Assisting with invoices, expense tracking, travel coordination, and other administrative tasks Providing support across sales, artist relations, research, and exhibition projects, including preparing sales presentations and monitoring major auction results Assisting all departments with special projects and other ad hoc tasks as needed Key Details Compensation: $17/hour Term(s): N/A Schedule: 3-4 consecutive days/week Format: In-Person Deadline: 07/31/2026 Eligibility General Qualifications Personable, motivated, responsible, and genuinely interested in gaining experience in a gallery setting; previous gallery experience is not required, though a strong interest in contemporary art is essential Exceptional communicator, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to approach both routine and complex tasks with equal care, discretion, and efficiency Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment Strong sense of responsibility and discretion Customer service experience strongly preferred Education & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in the Arts, Humanities, Economics, or equivalent Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
